Newtonmore

Welcome to Newtonmore, one of our newest and most exciting homes for children. This home is located just a short walk away from the Royal Derby Hospital. Newtonmore is a three-story home with its own driveway and garage.

As soon as you step through the front door, you'll be greeted by a bright and welcoming bathroom to your left. Straight ahead, you'll find a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area that looks out onto a large, beautiful back garden. On the first floor, you'll discover two cozy double bedrooms, a large living room with plenty of natural light streaming through the huge windows, and a bathroom. On the second floor, there is a single room that can be used either as a bedroom or as an office space. Next to the single room, you'll find a  master bedroom, complete with an en-suite and walk-in wardrobe.

We take the comfort and well-being of our residents seriously. That's why Newtonmore is designed with our young people in mind, and we provide everything they need to feel safe, secure, and happy in their new home. In many of our homes we aim to create a sensory and play area where young people can go to express themselves freely and wind down if they need to. All staff bedrooms and offices will have locks on them to ensure privacy and safety of staff. In addition to this other areas of the home may have locks or alarms on for the young persons safety.

We understand that moving into a residential home can be a difficult and sometimes overwhelming experience. We strive to make our young people feel as comfortable and at home as possible, and we believe that everyone should be able to personalise their space.

We encourage every child to make their bedroom their own, from putting up pictures of their family and friends to painting the room. We also invite them to help decorate other shared areas of the house, such as the living room and garden. We believe that this helps them to become more settled, and to develop a sense of belonging and ownership in the home.

At Newtonmore , creating a welcoming and positive environment is our top priority. Our staff are all trained to be friendly and approachable, and to provide a safe and secure home for all of our young people. We also strive to create an atmosphere of acceptance and respect, where everyone can feel comfortable to express their views and beliefs.
