About Cowley House

Cowley is a lovely terraced home located in the Allestree Area. As you enter, you are welcomed by a staircase that leads to the second floor. On the ground floor, there is a large living room, a dining room, and a kitchen. On the second floor, there are two staff bedrooms, one of which also functions as an office, a young person's bedroom, and a bathroom.

All shared areas of the house are accessible to young people, however in the interest of privacy and confidentiality, the staff bedrooms and office are locked at all times.

We understand that moving into a residential home can be a difficult and sometimes overwhelming experience. We strive to make our young people feel as comfortable and at home as possible, and we believe that everyone should be able to personalise their space.

We encourage every child to make their bedroom their own, from putting up pictures of their family and friends to painting the room. We also invite them to help decorate other shared areas of the house, such as the living room and garden. We believe that this helps them to become more settled, and to develop a sense of belonging and ownership in the home.

We strive to make Cowley a comfortable and supportive home for our young people. Our staff are all trained to be friendly and approachable, and to provide a safe and secure home for all of our residents. We also provide a range of resources and support, from individual counselling and activities to educational resources and mental health support. We believe that these services offer our young people the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential in a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

Cowley House is currently one of our supported living homes that is located close to Derby City Centre. This home supports young people over the age of 16 with emotional and behavioural struggles , and autistic tendencies.
