About Allestree House
At Allestree House, we strive to provide a safe and secure environment for all of our young people, in accordance with Ofsted registered children home standards.
The ground floor comprises of a spacious kitchen, a living-dining room and a separate laundry room. On the first floor, there are two staff rooms, one of which is also an office, and a bathroom. On the second floor, there is a large bedroom with an en-suite bathroom to accommodate a young person. All shared areas of the house are accessible to young people, however in the interest of privacy and confidentiality, the staff bedrooms and office are locked at all times.
We understand that moving into a residential home can be a difficult and sometimes overwhelming experience. We strive to make our young people feel as comfortable and at home as possible, and we believe that everyone should be able to personalise their space.
We encourage every child to make their bedroom their own, from putting up pictures of their family and friends to painting the room. We also invite them to help decorate other shared areas of the house, such as the living room and garden. We believe that this helps them to become more settled, and to develop a sense of belonging and ownership in the home.
At Allestree House, creating a welcoming and positive environment is our top priority. Our staff are all trained to be friendly and approachable, and to provide a safe and secure home for all of our young people. We also strive to create an atmosphere of acceptance and respect, where everyone can feel comfortable to express their views and beliefs.
Allestree House is one of our Supported Living facilities which houses young people between the ages of 16-18 with the aim of helping them to build their independence skills so they can positively reintegrate into society as a young adult.
