About Arnold
Arnold is one of our newer homes that offers both solo and shared placements. Upon entering the front door, you'll find yourself in a welcoming living room that leads to an open-plan kitchen and dining area. Further down, you'll come across a laundry room and the first bathroom of the home. The second floor boasts three bedrooms, with one reserved for a staff bedroom and office, one for a young person's bedroom, and the third one that can be used as either a staff bedroom, young person's bedroom, or a sensory room, depending on the placement. There is also a second bathroom on this floor. All shared areas of the home are accessible to young people, but for the privacy and safety of our staff and confidential files, the office and staff bedrooms will have locks. In shared placements, the young person's bedroom will also be locked.
We understand that moving into a residential home can be a difficult and sometimes overwhelming experience. We strive to make our young people feel as comfortable and at home as possible, and we believe that everyone should be able to personalise their space.
We encourage every child to make their bedroom their own, from putting up pictures of their family and friends to painting the room. We also invite them to help decorate other shared areas of the house, such as the living room and garden. We believe that this helps them to become more settled, and to develop a sense of belonging and ownership in the home.
At Arnold, creating a welcoming and positive environment is our top priority. Our staff are all trained to be friendly and approachable, and to provide a safe and secure home for all of our young people. We also strive to create an atmosphere of acceptance and respect, where everyone can feel comfortable to express their views and beliefs.
Arnold is one of our supported living facilities, this home houses young people between the ages of 16-18 and helps them to gain valuable independence skills in preparation for when they live independently
